Scientific functions
| Type | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| sin, cos, tan | Trigonometry | sin(30) = 0.5 (DEG) |
| asin, acos, atan | Inverse trigonometry | asin(1) = 90 (DEG) |
| log, ln, log2 | Log base 10, e, 2 | log(1000) = 3 |
| ^, sqrt, cbrt, root(n,x) | Powers and roots | root(3,27) = 3 |
| n!, fact(n) | Factorial | 5! = 120 |
| nCr(n,r), nPr(n,r) | Combinations, permutations | nCr(5,2) = 10 |
| mod(a,b) | Remainder | mod(17,5) = 2 |
| E | Scientific notation | 3E8 = 300000000 |
Degrees vs radians
Most school problems use degrees. Calculus and physics often use radians. One full turn is 360° or 2π radians. Switch modes with the DEG / RAD button above the display.
Frequently asked questions
How do I type a power like x³?
Use the ^ key. For example 2^3 = 8 and 9^0.5 = 3.
How do I find nCr on this calculator?
Type nCr(n,r), for example nCr(10,3) = 120. Use nPr(n,r) for permutations.
Can it calculate factorials of decimals?
Yes. Decimal factorials use the gamma function, so 0.5! ≈ 0.8862.
